codax publisher owes its existence to the delight in beautiful books. In the exclusive editions
produced by codax, the accent is on the perfection of their craftsmanship. Outstanding book design
provides the basis. The aim of the venture is to create a publishing platform for contemporary art
photography and video work. For many of the artists involved, it is the first time their work has been
presented to the public in book form. The founders of codax encounter the medium of photography
in their day-to-day work. They see this series of books, which began appearing in 1996, as a
contribution to the medium’s artistic and formal development.
